And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
by Rev Mario Schoenmaker
Discourse 12 | The Inner Source of Spiritual Healing
The first miracle to follow the event of Pentecost is recorded in Acts chapter 3, Peter heals a lame man. The source of that healing power was Peter. Through Peter’s response to the lame beggar the spirit within him, given by Christ on Pentecost day, flowed out and healed.
This power has been given to all, yet today we so rarely see it. Mario says it is because we have not fostered this inner spirit, we have not believed in its power. It requires faith in our own spiritual beingness and discernment as to what needs to be given.
Mario also acknowledges that not all are healers, that there are different spiritual gifts, but these gifts and powers are only known through giving and expressing them. They do not keep.
