Just as the colours in nature change from one season to the next – the tender, fresh, vibrant greens of spring; the blue skies and sunny yellow of summer; the ripening oranges and reds, and the earthy browns of autumn; the cool violets, blues and greys of winter; then back again to the verdant spring greens – so, too, the colours of the seasons and festivals change as we journey through the cycle of the spiritual year. They reflect to us something of the atmosphere within our being and surrounding us. They help shape our consciousness. And they have power to stimulate and strengthen ability and expression.
The spiritual year is a journey through the unfolding and flowering of the human soul. As we enter into a new a spiritual year (Advent Sunday, November 27), this creative workshop is an opportunity for reflection on the power and influence of living colour. Our exploration of colour through the cycle of the spiritual year aims to inform our understanding, inspire our use and deepen our experience of colour. As well as thinking about the seasonal colours, perhaps you will also include them in your contemplation and visualisation, and use them to decorate and adorn your devotional space or altar, even your home or clothing. Doing so, we can then take time to reflect on our perceptions and experience associated with the colours and increase our understanding and wisdom. Only through divine love and grace, can the tender rose that is our soul freely open its timid petals to radiant light and release the full fragrance of its flowering. A one-day online creative workshop via Zoom (three sessions) to inform and inspire your experience of living colour and enhance your journey through the cycle of the spiritual year.
