Pentecost: Feast of Spirit | Discourse 10 | eBOOK
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit
by Rev Mario Schoenmaker
In this series of discourses, Rev Mario ponders the historical happening, evolutionary significance and personal implications of the cosmos-shifting happening we call Pentecost. If you have wanted to understand this tremendous outpouring of spirit from a deeper perspective, these discourses will enable you to enter into this unique event and embrace it.
These discourses were given over the course of twenty years at different times of the year and in different settings so they reflect both a constant and evolving perspective of Pentecost. We suggest you take your time with each one. These discourses are challenging and inspiring, a feast of spirit.
Discourse 10 | Pentecost: The Old has Passed Away: Everything is New!
Rev Mario raises the issue of identification in this address. How we identify ourselves and what we identify with and as, and also how we identify others. In this the ‘human point of view’ can be seen, for it is very physical and material. We must regard ourselves thus no longer, St Paul says. In Christ we are new beings and slowly and surely we are being cleansed and our astral begins to shine. Foster that newness.
Who are you? The human point of view. All things have passed away. The astral becomes like a shining light. The zig-zagging torpedo. You can do all things. Everything is new. Work with the elements of life, light and love. (May 1983)
