Holy, Holy, Holy!
Song by Colleen Corridan
Sanctus is the Latin name for the part of the Mass which calls the people on earth to join with the heavenly host in order to praise and magnify the Lord. They sing: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts! Heaven and earth are full of your glory, glory be to you, O Lord Most High!

Over the centuries, the Sanctus has been set to music by many famous composers. This Sanctus differs slightly in that it uses the words of the Cosmic Mass which emphasise the Christ in you. The music was written and is performed by Colleen Corridan, whose previous album “Reaching Upward” touched the hearts of many people.
This song was originally commissioned for the Elevation to the Office of Meritus ceremony for Reverend Robert John in February 2006. You will recognise elements of the well-loved Pachelbel’s canon at different times. It is an uplifting, joyous song which gathers and focuses energy for worship. The text of the song is below: Sanctus (The Call to Praise) Christ in me, Hope of glory! In hope my heart is lifted to the Lord, Thankful, joyful, rejoicing. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts, Heaven and earth are full of your glory, Glory be to you, O Lord most high. It is a very good and joyful thing And our duty that we should At all times and in all places Praise and glorify your name, Giver of light and love, Creator and sustainer of all that is. Therefore with angels, archangels, Thrones, dominions, Archai, mights and powers, With cherubim and seraphim - All the comp’ny of spiritual worlds - We praise and magnify your glorious name Always saying: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory, Glory be to you, O Lord most high. Keywords Devotional, Music, Colleen Corridan. |
