The season of Lent has begun. This is the work ahead of each of us in our lenten journey: To imbue our consciousness and being with more heavenly light, and to shine that light more brightly into the worlds around us and above, that we all may be more enabled to experience the transforming power of the Easter mysteries.
Spirit of Christ … living God,
Transform this house of clay,
Till from the dust with Christ I rise
To everlasting day.
From the darkness of our unconscious, our lenten spiritual practice enables a spectrum of colour to emerge into understanding, and these many and varied colours to merge into the one pure clear light we celebrate Easter Day. From numinous darkness into living light.
Willingness to enter into seeming darkness, seeming absence with an attitude of interest, openness of heart and a spirit of exploration and experimentation can bring new colour, new meaning to our lenten experience.
In our lenten explorations and endeavours we work with the experience, wisdom and trust we have established within us down the years, and then allow time and the warmth of our heart and mind to reveal to us the full colour and meaning and what is emerging within.
