During Advent we are called to give our attention and priority to nourishing our inner life and being, so we may become more filled with Christ’s light and better equip ourselves to enact love and compassion. To engage our willingness and determination to overcome the apathy and resistance of our astral desire nature. To choose what reigns within our consciousness – and how we, in our daily living, reign over the world around us. To look not only to our own interests, but to the interests of others.
Robert illustrates this, speaking of images of the ‘crown of light’ and the ‘tower of light’.
Joy is this growing light within our hearts and minds, in our consciousness and being. The more we establish, nourish and sustain our inner light, then the more joy will increase within us. The more joy we are filled with, then the more the light of Christ shines forth from us to illuminate our way and to provide a comforting assurance to those around us.
