In this address, Rev Mario examines the causes of war. Sometimes the seed was in events centuries ago, but often it is in our own attitudes and actions now. Even though we seem so distant from the situation, spiritually we are close. This means that spiritually we can also be part of the solution, so that ‘everything will work for good’. In this address, Rev Mario suggests what we must do to bring light into the situation.
When Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1991, and the Americans got involved, a Soul Mass was held to pray for all those who had perished in the warfare. This is the address from that Soul Mass. Since that time, daily prayers, the lighting of candles and the celebration of masses for those who die through violence have become part of our conscious response to these tragedies that have continued to unfold ever since.
