Two thousand years ago the Godhead became flesh and dwelt amongst us – revealing how the human being on earth can be a powerful channel of the divine. Today, however, we find a curious rejection of our physical lives.
There are many forces working against us fully occupying our own bodies. More and more the tendency is to cut off from the world and our sense impressions and live either in our heads and rely on technology for information, or live in a swirl of emotion and desire. The temple of our bodies is often empty. The focus for this year is about becoming more finely attuned to our own senses, the five we know, and the many we don’t, taking notice of our sense impressions and working with our sensitivities so we become re-connected with both the earth and the body as a channel of spirit, the body we one day hope will be ‘the substance of your being, O Lord’. It is about preparing ourselves devotedly for the perception of the living Christ, transfigured in this world. This perception will change everything.
