Rose of Christ | DIGITAL MUSIC
Song by Colleen Corridan
The song was originally written for the annual Rose Sunday festival which celebrates the beauty of the Christ that lives within us.
The chorus is based on the well-loved consecration prayer we say together each Good Friday, and which also forms part of the liturgy for the Eucharist for the Unordained:
O loving Lord,
present in these holy mysteries,
I give myself to you
for joy and for sorrow,
for sickness and for health,
for success and failure,
in time and in eternity.
Rose of Christ is an uplifting, joyous song, reminding us that the power of Christ is always there, and praying that this spiritual beauty will grow and be seen every day. The full text of the song is below.

Rose of Christ The Rose of Christ lives in our heart It dwells within, never to depart It’s beauty is there for the world to see. It’s fragrance is transforming you and me. Chorus: The rose is there in joy, the rose is there in sorrow The rose is there in sickness and in health The rose in success, the rose in failure The rose lives in time and eternity In you, O Lord, God’s vision we behold Of our perfection long foretold The promise is kept, in you we see The flowering of our true humanity With love and with wisdom in our soul Their full expression, our resolve Fair, Rose of Sharon, grow and bloom we pray Your beauty Lord, be seen everyday Keywords Devotional, Music, Colleen Corridan. |
