This contemplation is on the Mystical Interval. Images portraying Christ’s appearances to his disciples after the resurrection and images of Pentecost are interpreted as stages in the transformation of our relationship with the I AM.
Musical improvisations are used to enhance the contemplation and create a more heart-felt listening experience. The images are arranged into 8 stages. The first image is Christ’s appearance to Mary Magdalene on Easter morning, with middle C as the corresponding first musical tone. The images progress through to Ascension, which occurs 40 days after Easter, during the 6th week. The corresponding musical interval is therefore the 6th. Finally we reach Pentecost, which portrays a new and higher consciousness. Pentecost occurs 50 days after Easter, which is the first Sunday of the 8th week and is represented musically by sounding the upper C octave. This contemplation has been created as one complete form in itself. We have however delineated the recording into 8 tracks as a convenience for those who may want to listen to particular tracks separately. Special thanks go to Sue Robinson for contributing her skills as a pianist, her improvisational ability and her time, to this recording. We hope this recording complements your experience of the Mystical Interval. Thanks also to Birgith Lugosi (Aurora Australis, College of Art) for enriching my appreciation of musical tone. I also want to acknowledge insights into Christian scripture to be found in the work of Rudolf Steiner (1861–1925). The contemplation is dedication to Rev Mario Schoenmaker (1929-1997). Teacher of the wonder, depth and life of esoteric Christianity.
