The Spiritual Season of LENT In the forty days prior to Easter Sunday, we prepare ourselves to gain a deeper experience of the event of Golgotha and to unfold a greater understanding of the effect of the death and resurrection of Christ on each individual, this world, and the cosmos. Remember that you are but dust and to dust your body must return. Remember also that the spirit of Christ dwells within you and you shall live forever. This season begins with Ash Wednesday (February 26, 2020) when palm crosses are burnt and our foreheads are anointed with ash. The mark upon our foreheads, with which we enter into Lent, tells us this balancing and harmonising process begins with our consciousness and our ability to remain ever-mindful of the ephemeral nature of our physical begin and the eternal nature of our spiritual being. Lent begins with our deliberate choose to prioritise our time, our energy and resources to making spiritual intent more present in physical expression.
