In the book of Genesis, Abram and Jacob promise to give a tenth of all they have in recognition of being blessed by God. This later became known as ‘tithing’.
In this address, we are presented with a different way to think about giving a tenth of all we have in recognition of our relationship with God. Could it be that every tenth life is given to God to serve his cosmic purposes? Every tenth life a life of sacrifice, of being dedicated to purposes far greater than your own? The nature of this sacrifice and what it creates in and around such a dedicated soul is uplifting and beautiful to behold.
