Four times during the years of his ministry, Rev Mario Schoenmaker led extended teaching sessions on St John’s Book of Revelation. He obviously saw it as a very important book, and he described it as a lifetime study.

‘The Ultimate Vision’ is the collected transcripts of his fourth and final study series. Over a number of years, Rev Mario gave inspiring lectures on the Book of Revelation to a ‘closed’ Development Class of committed students. It comprises 9 introductory lectures and 40 lectures on the text. This new revised edition presents the material in five easy to handle volumes and retains the immediacy and power of Rev Mario’s style as he combines occult truths with warm human insights.

This study unfolds the path and goal of spiritual and personal development. The ultimate goal being the ultimate vision, and the ability to, like St John, step through the ‘open door’ into the heavens.

Of the Book of Revelation, Reverend Mario says many things, but succinctly he told us: It is about the Initiation of the Will – meaning that within it lies the technique by which one can become united within oneself and become the full expression of the Son of God.

The Book of Revelation is an occult and cosmic book. It is concerned with the microcosmic manifestations within us, such as the seven spiritual centres, but also the macrocosmic, the seven eras, the seven epochs, the seven planetary incarnations. It places the human being within the huge sweep of evolution; it enlarges our view. It causes us to see a bigger picture, whilst remaining mindful of our own responsibilities and the urgent need for the inner application of these teachings.

Rev Mario gives us a warning at the beginning of The Ultimate Vision. This is what he says: ‘You must apply its principles to self. If not you may find it will turn against you. There is a magic in the book but the magic is towards you not others. I must warn you that once you start studying the Book of Revelation you must not stop. If you stop then it will be to your detriment. If you regard it purely theoretically without applying that theory then its power will work against you.’

The Companion Reading comprises the first nine lectures of the original course. These lectures introduce the esoteric concepts and spiritual exercises required to enter into John’s vision as well as Rev Mario’s lectures on the Book of Revelation. These lectures should be read first and used as a reference throughout the study.

Volume One: The Seven Churches. The lectures in this first volume focus on the first three chapters of John’s Revelation, which are the letters to the Seven Churches of Asia, dictated by the Spirit.

Volume Two: The Opening of the Seven Seals. These lectures are set in the Throne Room in Heaven, which is described in chapters 4 through to 11 of the Book of Revelation. There, together with John, we witness the opening of the seven seals by the Lamb and the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. We hear the seven trumpets, including the last trumpet.

The focus of Rev Mario’s lectures is very much on the far future and there is an urgent imperative that our readiness for the future should not be delayed. ‘There should be no more delay’ are the words of the Angel, which Rev Mario translates as meaning ‘Time is no more.’ The repeated message of the first three chapters of Revelation, ‘Repent’ and ‘Hear’ grows in urgency as we proceed through this book.

‘I will show you what must soon take place …’ In the days of the trumpet call to be sounded by the seventh angel, the mystery of God should be fulfilled.’ ‘There should be no more delay.’

Volume Three: The War in Heaven. These lectures focus on Revelations chapter 12 and 13 – the war in heaven and on earth, and the work of Archangel Michael.

The forces at work in history and current world events are the outer signs of the war that is being waged in the spiritual worlds and within our own being. These lectures increase our awareness of the anti-forces, and assist us not be distracted or deterred by them.

Rev Mario focuses on us building a new consciousness which is in unity with the spiritual worlds. Rev Mario calls this the ‘Michael Consciousness’. The material in this volume is very much about how we live our lives on this earth as spiritual beings and how we develop a spiritual perception and understanding of the times we are living through.

Volume Four: A New Heaven and a New Earth. The final chapters of John’s Revelation, chapters 14-22, describe the harvesting of the world, the seven angels and their bowls of wrath, the fall of Babylon, the final heavenly chorus ‘Hallelujah!’, the last judgement and the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven … the new world that we must prepare for.

Rev Mario’s lectures on these chapters focus on the future, on the next eras, epochs and world incarnation to come – the new heaven and the new earth – and on what we can do to prepare ourselves to make the transition to this new existence. We cannot remain as we are and make the transition to New Jupiter. There is a necessity to transform all of our bodies.
