Not only is it an offering and consecration of the bread and wine, it is also the offering and consecration of self. It is celebrated for those present, and with and on behalf of the universe. All are welcome to participate.
Sharing in these mysteries assists with aligning the small I AM within us with the great I AM of the cosmos, and the soul with the hierarchies above and below us. It is a recognition and embracing of the nine spiritual realms as well as an acceptance of our role and responsibility towards the animal, plant and mineral kingdoms. The whole creation is involved.
The Mass is mystical and cosmic, inclusive, prayerful, evoking a closer relationship with the divine.
We look forward to celebrating the refreshed Mystical Cosmic Mass with all of you at Michaelmas, Sunday October 1st.
It will be different! The song sheet includes all the new Mass songs and responses and will be available to download a few days before the service. You may choose to participate using this response sheet, or simply be present and take in the experience in a different way.
During the service, you will have the opportunity to join with the Celebrant in the Offering of the Bread and Wine and also in blessing these elements during the Consecration, so make sure you have them close.
This new liturgy is more interactive and places more responsibility on each participant in their offering and communion with Christ. There is more time allowed for quiet reflection during the communion given this is the main aim of the Mass.
It will take time for all of us to become at ease with this new liturgy. We invite you to travel with us in this journey.

As is usual for all services, candlelight and flowers will enhance with spiritual atmosphere. Please have close at hand a consecrated host, small bread roll or piece of bread and also a small glass or chalice of port, wine or fruit juice so you can join with the celebrant in the Offering and Consecration. |
Michaelmas acknowledges the great spiritual forces which are working for the good of the human soul and its evolution. Archangel Michael is the giver of spiritual will. He calls for our renewed dedication to the forces of good and healing in this world and our willingness to perceive the presence of Christ in our midst and within our individual being.
During this festival we celebrate what the spiritual beings make available to us and our own co-operation with them, which is to be seen in our creativity. Think about your year so far – the expressions of your will in action and the creativity that has flowed from this.
