COSMIC MASS Rev Colleen Corridan from the At Large community SECOND SUNDAY IN LENT Europe 8am CET | WA 3pm | SA 5.30pm | NSW/VIC 6pm AEDT | NZ 8pm LENT: In the forty days prior to Easter Sunday, we prepare ourselves to gain a deeper experience of the event of Golgotha and to unfold a greater understanding of the effect of the death and resurrection of Christ on each individual, this world, and the cosmos. This is the season of Lent. The Mass is ‘cosmic’ because it is celebrated not only for the people present, but with and on behalf of the universe. Christ’s sacrifice was for every human soul, so everyone – regardless of age, gender, race or creed – is welcome to participate and receive the sacred elements of bread and wine. Participating of holy communion has an uplifting and strengthening effect for all who are working to realise the Christ within. Preparation / Set Up
As is usual for all services, candlelight and flowers will enhance with spiritual atmosphere. Please have ready a consecrated host, small bread roll or piece of bread and also a small glass or chalice of port, wine or fruit juice.
